Can only one bike be transported safely?

Yes, the Bikeinside bicyle rack can be used also for transportation of one bike. The carrier is jammed through its telescopic adjustability between the rear doors or the cabin walls. Theoretically it can be used as a free-standing bicycle rack on the floor.

Which length do I need?

In general, you can use the standard version. For larger vans or station wagons, bicycles can also be tarnsported against driving direction. Between the car wheel wells, it is usually quite narrow and the short or Xshort version is used.

Bikeinside without dismounting the front wheel?

In large vans and light trucks the Bikeinside carrier can be used without dismounting the front wheel. Get you TWO Bikeinside crossbars and roof bike rack with an "arm" for each bike (there are cheap ones in hardware stores). The Bikeinside crossbar has a pipe cross-section of 2x3cm so there fits aftermarket parts.

The Bikeinside crossbar will be placed on the floor, the roof bike racks attached to it and the bikes fixed to the roof rack mounts. Depending on vehicle size, for example a Volkswagen Multivan you can transport at least 4 bikes in the car.
